WHO ARE WE?

HEM” is an informal group of active residents from different cultural backgrounds whose main aim is to bridge a positive relationship within the ethnic minorities living in Holmewood, and to build a neighbourhood together.

It has helped those involved to begin to overcome their fears and isolation by building relationships through shared meetings and group trips, enabling them to provide for each other, mutual resources.

We then, began to plan ways of helping others in similar positions to integrate more easily on arrival to the estate.
The Holmewood Development Project,
through Joseph Rowntree Foundation, then became the HEM Group.

WHAT ARE OUR AIMS AND OBJECTIVES?
1.   To offer assistance and guidance to any Ethnic Minorities in Holmewood.
2.   To build trust between individuals and agencies, to inform of and give access to key services in Holmewood and Bradford and to promote our local community.
3.   Emphasise on developing interaction
through cross-community Cultural Events
and Activities based on common interests.
